“Meyer Sound engineers have earned an enviable reputation for developing unique solutions to some of the most difficult problems confronting audio professionals. Meyer Sound breakthroughs — such as patented trapezoidal enclosure shape and the 1995 introduction of self-powered systems — have often become standard in the industry.” Meyer Sound

Pete Cornish All Effects Pedal Board Systems.

I figured I would edit this post and be a bit more informative as a result to a question asked. These boards deserve a bit more attention to info.

These boards are absolutely ground loop free, and the noise is virtually non existent. Everything about them is totally custom. From line drivers, effects choices to send and returns, multiple guitar inputs and amp outputs, the look and feel of the board or more than one boards working together to create your masterpiece etc… Eventually you make the choice of whether or not you want solid state op-amp based buffers or tube based buffers through out your entire board. Just about every effect and i/o uses a fiendishly clever discrete High Impedance, Unity Gain, Class A, Buffer Preamp with it’s superior RFI rejecting capability (to eliminate Radio Station interference) and Low Impedance Audio output, allowing the use of extended cable runs.

All in all these boards are a one of a kind amazement.

So having said all of that…

These boards very in cost depending on what it is you’re after. If you have a small board with relatively not much going on, like 3 buttons. It’s around $2000 USD. If it’s like the one above around something like $12k USD. Someone like David Gilmour’s massive 17 button boards with many i/o’s then it’s in the ball park of $20k USD +.

Keep in mind these boards are shipped from the UK and are dealing against the British Pound. So it comes off to us a bit pricey.

I just look at these for guitarist as the best guitar pedal board consoles. They are like the Neve or SSL or Midas of consoles for guitarist.

Pete Cornish is also the grandfather of the Pedal Board idea. His client list is monstrous. He deals with the top names, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Sting, The Police, The Cure, Queen, Yes, Metallica, you name em. Check out his site. http://www.petecornish.co.uk

Send him a message and he’ll be happy to answer you back. He’s a kind gentleman.

Welcome To My Nightmare

Shockingly Good Sound
by Bruce Collins

I’m part of a mid-size audio rental company, we rent for productions and will-call gear. One day a new client called and said, “I need to rent a mic.” We said OK, and rented them a SM58. About two hours later the client called and asked us if we were trying to kill her husband.

Confused, I asked her, “Uh, how?” She said that they had plugged the mic in, and it shocked him.

“Plugged it into what?” I asked.

Her answer? “Well, the wall!”

So, thinking the in-house P.A. system’s phantom power had a bad ground, I sent a tech out with a new mic and cable to check it out. The tech arrived on-site and found the client holding the mic and the cable—which they had cut and wired with an AC end, and then plugged into the wall. While the tech stood there in shock, she innocently said “You plug it in to the wall and sound comes out, right?”
